So I’m looking at other people’s Tumblrs and I think it’s a really awesome idea that they post in French, Japanese, or whatever. That got me thinking… maybe I should try that, but in Kinaray-A! For all of you who don’t know, Kinaray-A is my hometown language and it’s the language that’s mainly spoken in my house (I just don’t speak it for family reasons, lol). I’m a little worried that my children are not going to grow up knowing their ethnic culture and language, which I consider to be somewhat important. I’m still upset that I don’t know how to speak Kinaray-A. I just don’t want my beloved Filipino culture to be forgotten.
My ideal plan would be to marry a Filipino boy who happens to speak the language and know a lot about our customs, but for some reason I don’t think that’s going to happen. I recently discovered that I’m pretty much into all races except Filipino. So, this is going to be me attempting how to learn Kinaray-A. Let’s see how this goes. Probably not that far, however, I’m trying to be optimistic about this. And you know who’s going to teach me? My eight and six year-old cousins. RAISE THE ROOF.
Oh, just so you guys know, I’m not as proficient as in this language as my Tumblr are in their language. My rants are going to be more like sentences.
This also means I’m actually going to go to Barkada meetings this semester! Maybe! Lol
These past couple days were really fun and busy. Okay, in perspective, I didn’t really do much, but considering that I laid in my bed for a majority of the break, my day felt busy. It’s actually kind of funny… I’ve been sitting in my bed in the dark for so long, that my eyes got super sensitive to light. Sitting in a well-lit room for about thirty minutes makes my eyes hurt. LOL
So. I went shopping the other day with my friend Elaine and I definitely made up for my long shopping break. I let my love for cardigans get out of hand by buying 3 more cardigans. I think my cardigan collection has reached the double digits now. The best buy of the night was a pair of cropped trousers from J. Crew that were originally $168.00 for $17.99. You gotta admit that’s really good. I feel like Carey Mulligan when I wear them :3
The rest of my purchases included various nail polish, a watch for clinicals, and these really yummy calcium supplements from GNC. Aside from my shopping day, I got a lot of errands done and had a bonding day with my dog. Overall, it was nice over the past couple of days. I got so depressed and lonely after sitting in bed for a while, so it was nice going outside and seeing people again lol.
